Strike dates: Every day in New Year that RMT and ASLEF will walk out

Strike action will run into Christmas this year, with workers from several vital sectors walking out as unions bargain for better pay and conditions. Britons are anticipating disruption across the UK’s rail network and at airports and hospitals as the “winter of discontent” continues. A selection of unresolved conflicts means that disagreements will run into the New Year, and several unions have already confirmed 2023 dates.

Who is striking in January 2023?

Border Force officials will strike after Christmas, carrying their action from December 28 to New Year’s Eve.

The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union has organized around similar dates, with its members striking between December 29 and 31.

The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union will cause disruption until December 27, with its members striking over Christmas from December 24, setting up for the first walkouts of 2023.
